Domonic Brown Sent Down to AAA Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs

After acquiring Hunter Pence from the Astors last night, the Phillies needed to make room on the roster and thus sent Domonic Brown back down to the minors.

And he will be starting in leftfield.

This move to me is more than just to make room in my opinion, but instead to train Brown to play left field instead of right (Pence’s position).

After hearing numerous rumors about the Hunter Pence trade, the Phillies clearly tried to hold onto Brown. I believe they still see a lot of potential in him.

Brown who is just 23, was hitting .246 with 5 home runs and 19 RBI’s on the season. Granted, these are not attractive numbers. However, Brown still has to put some pieces together and it is going to take some time to do so.

Patience, Phillies fans. Dom Brown will be a quality player.
